Nokia made the significant announcement today that it has partnered with directory publishers across Europe to provide quick access to directory content for users of Nokia N-series multimedia devices and Nokia devices based on its S60 platform. The directory content is part of the Finnish mobile device maker’s Mobile Search application.

Among the content partners included in the announcement are TPI (Spain), Yell (U.K.) Seat PG (Italy), PagesJaunes (France), Fonecta (Finland) and Eniro (Sweden, Norway). The application Mobile Search is designed to jump-start use of mobile phones to search for local information, whether it’s finding a suitable restaurant or the nearest health club. The deal could boost the brand exposure in the mobile space for many of Europe’s leading directory publishers.
