A New Player on the Directory Stage
Local Insight Media, a company formed by the private equity firm Welsh, Carson, Anderson & Stowe, has acquired 100 percent of CBD Media Holdings, owner of Cincinnati Bell Yellow Pages.

Local Insight has been scooping up directory operations around North America, including Alaska and Puerto Rico. Once it closes the CBD deal, it will have put together a US$200 million directory company, making it the sixth-largest U.S. publisher, according to The Kelsey Group.
The transaction is expected to close in the first quarter of 2007. TKG will have more to say about this deal in the next Local Media Journal.
