It’s well known by now that mobile has overtaken desktop as the primary mode for online searches. Home services has a tendency to lag broader online trends and this is no exception. However consumers are expected to soon use mobile for a majority of home related searches as well, making mobile the essential device for matching consumers with home services providers.

Another angle on this shift to mobile involves how service providers are becoming more dependent on their mobile device as as their “office on the go”, in the words of HomeAdvisor CEO Chris Terrill.

See Terrill’s comments on mobile in the video clip below. Mobile and location based services will be a centerpiece of the conversation at SMB.

Terrill and his colleague Craig Smith will be Day 1 headliners at BIA/Kelsey’s SMB conference, Sept. 29-30 in Denver.

Terrill and Smith will be joined by other luminaries of the SMB space, including YP CTO Darren Clark, Booker CEO Josh McCarter, hibu US CEO Kevin Jesper, AffinityX CMO Lynn Tornabene, Constant Contact SVP Joel Hughes, GoDaddy SVP Raj Mukherjee and many others.
