SMBs are increasingly turning to mobile advertising*, according to BIA/Kelsey’s Local Commerce Monitor, Wave 19 (Q3/2015) survey of small and medium businesses. In Wave 18 (Q3/2014), 21 percent of SMBs surveyed reported using some type of mobile advertising. That number increased to 26.2 percent in Wave 19 (Q3/2015).
The rise in mobile advertising isn’t surprising when you consider that advertisers follow their customers — and 75 percent of the 255 million mobile phone users in the United States use a smartphone in 2015, according to BIA/Kelsey’s mobile ad revenue forecast.
* In Wave 19, mobile advertising included: an enhanced listing in a mobile app, a mobile app, mobile display, mobile location aware, mobile search, mobile website, text messaging, and other mobile.
