In case you missed it last night, the Daily Show had a great segment on recent Apple news items such as the iPad (a “big iPhone” that Jon Stewart uses to trick his kids that he’s shrinking).

But most of the segment was  about the continuing quagmire around the leaked next gen iPhone prototype. Apple’s reaction has put it in a light that it’s becoming “the man” that it’s corporate image has shunned for decades. Queue 1984 iconic “big brother” Macintosh ad.

“You guys are busting down doors in Palo Alto while [Bill] Gates is ridding the world of Mosquitoes… what the #*%@ is going on?!” quipped Stewart.

Of course the whole thing is delivered with biting sarcasm that only the Daily Show can do. Other jabs were reserved for the Beatles (iTunes licensing), and AT&T’s famously poor network performance for iPhones in places like New York and San Francisco.

A great little segment if you have a few minutes. Check it out here.

  1. Hilarious Todd. Thanks for sharing. Meanwhile more prototypes continue to appear in the far east.
